Great beers! Amazing view. Good but not special food.
Great beer garden, tasty Bavarian beer and delicious roast pork.
Beautiful and amazing beer
Really a great location. But unfortunately not visitable at the moment. At the top of the mountain you have a great view and around it is a great hiking forest with many hidden MTB trails. There are enough parking spaces and the rules of hygiene and distance can easily be observed at the moment.
MoreMonastery + church + brewery inn You should have seen it. Homemade beer + pork knuckles .. awesome !!!! Unfortunately only on a business trip (would have liked to stay longer).
MoreNice monastery with church. The beer garden or brewery inn is wonderful and invites you to linger after a hike.
MoreA great landscape, a baroque monastery with a magnificently furnished church and good beer. It doesn't get much better than that. Andechs Monastery is always worth a visit. Unfortunately, too many people know this, but there are also times that are a little quieter.
MoreA very nice place, I celebrated my birthday on the Holy Mountain of Bavaria. My 2nd home

We visited Andechs Monastery on a rainy day in late August, 2017. We got there early just before noon, so we were able to wander around and get pictures without people in the background. The tower was closed, but we still got some spectacular views of the surrounding country side. The interior of the church was thing of beauty that no one should miss! Then, we ate lunch at the beer hall. The monastery-brewed Andechser Dopplebock Dunkel was fabulous!
MoreThis might be one of my favorite places on the planet. The beer is great. I've had better beers, but not often. The food was delicious. It wasn't particularly fancy or unique, but it was solid. The views were gorgeous. Not the most picturesque thing I've ever seen, but incredibly peaceful. Taken alone, any one of these things make for a great location, but the combination of all three make this one of my favorite spots. Any time I even consider travelling to Germany, this place is always on the list of "must visits". Make the trip and check this place out.
MoreTop!
The walk up the hills was gorgeous, an the scenery, looking over the lake, fantastic. The restaurant was relatively well organized, and the waiting time, acceptable. The choice of food was extremely limited. The cakes and pastries at the coffee bar, the best
MoreHighly suggest for hiking trip from ammersee- andechs- stanbergersee
Is really worth a trip in Bavaria! The monastery is very beautiful, there is a restaurant with delicious, rustic food at very good prices and a souvenir shop. It's also worth buying beer there (in bottles to take away) and trying different types!
MoreGreat bear and the best "Schweinshaxe" (Grilled Knuckle of Pork). Usually crowded during holidays. Nice walk and excursion around.
MoreA beautiful monastery with a baroque church, small but beautiful! The details of the interior and its paintings of a very rare beauty. At the entrance to the church there is a courtyard with a beautiful landscape towards Lake Ammersee, and in the background the Bavarian Alps. To visit!
MoreShould be seen once. Very busy on Sundays when the weather is nice. Long queues in front of the beer gardens. There are beautiful hiking trails in the area.
MoreExcellent preserved monastery with an incredible church and beautiful beer gardens and farm shop, brewery and butcher's shop. Culture that should be experienced.
MoreGreat beer, delicious food, and a beautiful setting what more needs to be said. This was the perfect stop to enjoy lunch while exploring the Bavarian countryside.
MoreThe monastery with the church is always nice to look at. The rest is just commerce with extreme prices. In the monastery shop they charge € 2.20 for a bottle of beer. This results in a box = 44, - €.
MoreBeautiful monastery, with a restaurant that has the best pork knee I've ever eaten! And beer is an attraction go part! Incredible place!
Morevery happy birthday party of my son. Nice walk from Herrsching. Great beer, kingsize food and good Corona Safety Measures
MoreNice place for hiking too. It is recommended to take a look in the shop. There is also a wide variety of food and drink options.
MoreSoon...
Andechs is always worth a visit. If you want to drink and eat something, there are currently a few things to consider. Of course, the mask must not be forgotten under corona conditions. One of the group must also provide the contact details, this is checked using an identity card. The paths to the distribution of food and drinks are strange at first, but well marked, just follow the one-way streets and signs. Shortly after 10 o'clock it was still easy to find a place, but later it filled up quickly.
MoreGood food, nice place but it is so packed with tourists.
Serene place after a little hiking trail from Ammersee.
Beautiful monastery, there is a large parking lot nearby.
Nice monastery. Beer is very good, but very limited choice in food.
As always fantastic
Very beautiful historical place. Everything well organized too.
One could not look at the church in peace. Been there a few years ago. I thought you were great.
MoreAlways nice there. Had a good spot on the terrace. Food was good, but we only made snacks. Well regulated access (Corona measures). Only the wasps were annoying, but that's normal at this time of year. The old flair of sitting at a table with strangers is unfortunately no longer possible.
MoreOutstanding monument of architecture, with beautiful ornaments inside. There's a lovely trail from the nearby train station in Herrsching Lessing up to the monastery, definitely recommended to avail of their beer garden with excellent good and their own brewed beer. Very few vegetarian options though.
MoreBeautiful scenery, excellent beer!
Nice little Monastery
Very beautiful, it's worth to go the monastery and drink a beer or eat at the biergarten right next to monastery.
MoreBest haxe ever and I have had many
One of the best pints in Bavaria. Do yourself a favour and hike there, the beer tastes twice as good after a short pilgrimage to the top of the hill.
MoreBest beer and best Haxe.
Catholic monastery towering over the beautiful surroundings. The holy cloister was built in the early nineteenth century, and since then it has developed both as a spiritual center and as a self-sustaining entity, where, in addition to beer, many other things are produced. The place around the monastery is very beautiful, suitable for sports, walks, as well as a pleasant stay with family and friends - about the latter I mean the pleasant restaurants around the monastery. The church of the Holy Monastery, which is decorated in Baroque style, is especially impressive.
MoreIt is a beautiful monastery nearby Ammersee, can be reached with an easy hike or bike. As well, if you are cycling, you can enjoy a beautiful ride.
MoreVery nice place ...great bear! Must have one if u r ever there ...good was not good of below average
MoreBeautiful monastery close to the Ammersee! Needs 5-10 minutes of an easy ascend walk to reach. Looks beautiful both from the outside and the inside. From the base height of the monastery, there are gorgeous views of the surrounding areas...and offers many good photo points as well. The church tower can be climbed for just €1 per head cost. Although it is pretty narrow and all made of rickety wooden stairs...but it is still like an easy adventure to climb up and enjoy views from the windows above. There's a in-house brewery and a beautiful beer-garden too here! Indeed a must visit!
MoreA beautiful little monastery with a church, in which you get the feeling that you are a porcelain cup. 😊
MoreVery nice!
Best beer you can drink. Bravo!
Great scenery, very cool place, good food and beers in the BierGarten. Visit very recommended.
MoreIf you go to Bavaria and you don’t visit this place, you are missing a lot! Every time I travel there I go for a walk in this area to visit the church, the Biergarten and the restaurant nearby
MoreThank you for being with us!
We will call you back!
